Central Advisory Service

Our Central Advisory Service (ZSB) is there to help and guide students and those who want to study here. Our advisors will provide individual guidance on the programmes and courses offered at THGA, the requirements you need to meet if you want to study, the application procedure, career opportunities and how to organise your studies. Workshops, get-togethers and information events complement our service.

Students' Office

Do I meet the requirements to join a programme? How can I change a programme? What are the conditions to be admitted to an exam? Our Students' Office is there to help. As it combines the admissions and the examinations office, our team is able to help with all issues regarding enrolment, study progress and examinations.

International Office

The International Office, or IO in brief, is the service points for both, students from abroad (our incoming students) and students in Germany who would like to spend some time at a university abroad (our outgoing students). The IO advises on opportunities to fund such stays and on any other questions concerning a stay abroad.

Equal opportunities

If I am discriminated against at the university because of my gender, where can I find support? How can I find a better work-study-life balance? At THGA, equal opportunities is an essential part of who we are. Our Equal Opportunities Officers advise students on all questions of equal rights and support equal opportunities for every gender - female, male or diverse - in the different committees and organisations of THGA.

What job trends exist in the market? How well do my competences match? What are my professional development opportunities? What are my strengths and my prospects? Our Career Service guides students when developing career options and joining the labour market. This service is also available for part-time students who are interested in professional development.

Support in crisis and emergency Counselling

There are situations in our lives in which we need help - urgently. The Covid-19 pandemic in particular has shown that these situations emerge suddenly and unexpectedly, and that everyone can be affected. However, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. If you do not know what to do and who to turn to, these emergency hotlines and counselling advisors are there to help - 24/7.

ASta - the General Students' Committee

Our AStA is the General Students' Committee at THGA and it is organised and managed by the students themselves. The AStA supports students in all issues of their study course, and it organises day trips or specialist lectures. The AStA also runs a small shop where students can buy stationery and make use of the AStA printers for a low fee.

Coaching for international students

International students may find living abroad difficult. Settling in in a new country like Germany can be a challenge as the family is far away and things can be more complex than expected. If you do not know where to start and who talk to, please contact our integration manager. She can help you dealing with personal issues as well as challenges of your study programme.
