Link knowledge with hands-on experienceBachelor Engineering Informatics
The Bachelor programme Engineering Informatics combines the fundamental aspects of Technology and Digitalisation.
Digital technologies are here to stay and will continue to impact our daily lives and the way we work. At the heart of this modern world of information and digitalisation technologies there are still systems using principles of electrical and electronic engineering.
Note: The programme has been further developed and is currently undergoing accreditation. The final decision of the Accreditation Council on the further developments is still pending. Changes are therefore subject to change.
We do not have a minimum grade requirement for bachelor's programmes, nor do we charge tuition fees. We only charge a semester fee, which includes the Deutschland-Ticket for public transport.

Ideal for creative team players
In our Bachelor's programme in Engineering Informatics you will immerse yourself in the exciting world of digitalisation and networking and find answers to many questions raised by modern technology and computer science. For your studies, you will need a good basic knowledge of mathematics and natural sciences. As a creative mind, you enjoy searching for solutions to problems.
What else do you need? A love of tinkering with digital components and curiosity about change, because the IT industry is cutting-edge and constantly evolving.
Easily find your way into your studies
In the Engineering Informatics programme, our introductory phase makes it easier for you to transition from school or vocational training to university. All you need to start with is your school knowledge of mathematics and natural sciences – we will then gradually expand on this material in the following semesters.
In order to create a good balance between theory and practice, we have spread the internships evenly throughout your studies.
Indispensable progress
Digital innovations and technical assistance systems that make our everyday lives more pleasant and efficient have long since become indispensable. Information technology and digital technologies play a key role in this and are based on electrical engineering systems. Whether drones, smart buildings or production and manufacturing lines – almost nothing works without information technology. That is why specialist areas such as digital engineering, IT engineering and IT management have become an integral part of today's digitalised world.
