Master program Electrical Engineering and Information Technology

Do you aim for a senior position in the civil service or to assume managerial functions? Or do you want to open up new fields of knowledge? The Master's program in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology is the next step for students who want to deepen their understanding after completing a Bachelor's, Diplom or equivalent degree. That affords individual possibilities for a specialization – either in the field of Electrical Engineering or in the IT-sector.

The graduates have a broad spectre of occupations in the industry, for research and development. The Master program qualitify for management functions and the implementation of a doctorate.

Since the winter semester 2013/14 the TH Georg Agricola offers the Master program Electrical Engineering and Information Technology also as a part-time study.

Application deadlines:

  • For the summer semester: 15th January
  • For the winter semester: 15th July


  • For the Master degree you need a university graduation qualifying for a profession (Bachelor or Diploma) in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology or in a comparable study
  • You have to complete your study with the final grade 2,5 or better
  • In individual cases you can also enroll with different areas of studies

International applicants must present transcript and other documents that prove that they are entitled to attend a university in their home country, and that this entitlement is equivalent to the German Fachhochschulreife. Alternatively, they can preent (a) documents that show that they have passed the tests granting them the Fachhochschulreife, or (b) foreign documents recognized by the Ministry of Education that show they have obtained the Fachhochschulreife or the allgemeine Hochschulreife.

Chinese applicants are also required to present the certificate granted by the Academic Testing Center (Akademische Prüfstelle - APS) of the German Embassy in Beijing.

Moroccan applicants must attend a one-year college preparatory program (Studienkolleg). Alternatively, they can present a general or technical baccalaurèat along with documents showing that they successfully completed one year of studies in Morocco in a degree program similar of the one they are applying for.

International students must also present proof that their German language skills are adequate (DSH test, TestDaF).
