For whom is the international office there?

We take care of foreign students who want to study at the TH and all students who are studying at our university and are planning to do an abroad year. Moreover we as international office support scientists with their projects at the TH.

What should foreign students know before hand?

We need a proof that your school transcript is equivalent with the German Fachhochschulreife. Besides the equivalent degree the applicant has to have enough German language skills. Moreover you have to do and pass the DSH-Prüfung or the TestDaF (minimum 4 points in each part exams). Another important aspect is that you need to absolve your pre university internship.

What does the international office do for the integration of foreign students?

Together with the student union we organize an intercultural evening to different country of origin of our students.  We take care of special needs of our foreign students for this we established workshops where we discuss problems. Due to those workshops we established a tutorial program for foreign students. Moreover we offer individual support with all kinds of questions about studying and living in Germany.

Your most important suggestion for foreign students

Firstly: Search for networks not only with students from your home country make friends also to other students.
Secondly: Do not be scared to contact us about your questions. Look for contact with as early as possible if you need help.

When TH students should start to organize their abroad semester?

The best time for an abroad semester is supposed to be the 4th or 5th semester. You should start one year before to organize your semester abroad, clarify the financial aspect and make a language course.

Where should TH students go for an abroad semester?

They should definitely go to our partner universities in Europe and to Turkey where our Teachers have a lot of good connections which makes the organization for the abroad year easier. Another advantage is that foreign courses can be acknowledged easily.

Your most important recommendation for an abroad study?

One should be aware of that studying abroad means a lot of self-organization even we give a lot of help.
